The Secret To Lasting Physical Change

By Evan Sanders

"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. " | Socrates

One of the best most challenging journeys you will ever go on is seeing what your body is capable of. Perhaps you are in shape, totally out of shape, or simply looking to lose some weight. Nevertheless, developing a body that you can be proud, one that is healthy, and permits you to truly love every last tiny inch of it truly is a wonderful journey to travel down.

So what's the secret to making an enduring change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you'll become lackadaisical and deterred. As an alternative understand you're contesting with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But each time you do, you should come back with a commitment to achieving something you strongly want. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field every day. Without it, you'll suffer the the inevitable reality of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on creating the body of their dreams because they lack the personal power to keep on coming back again and againand again.

Commitment also is evoked, although not the commitment that you are probably thinking about. In our world, we are fed this idea that everything must take place at this time and if it does not occur now, it isn't worth it at all. Your body is going to change throughoutthe years, so why don't you make a real lifelong promise to remaining healthy? Is that a sexy marketable idea? Not so much. But is it something that could actually change the course of your life? Totally.

When you make a commitment to keeping your body healthy throughout your entire life, you may at last reach whatever goal you wish. It is all about seeing the bigger picture than simply the few months in front of you until summer. It is about developing something that you can be pleased with forever. For me, that new concept changed the course of my life as I was able to eventually hit my health goals after 12 years of struggling with my body image and food issues. But as soon as I changed my world view of what I was making an attempt to accomplish, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it might work for you. Make a lifetime commitment to remaining healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all sides of your life, and things will change radically.
